Derby Day blues for Bromley Juniors…..- Match Report

Bromley Juniors had their 100% win record shattered by their fierce rivals Burdett FC.

It was a new look team with the gaffer deciding to go for a 4-3-3 formation after receiving not so anonymous threats which later transpired to him from assistant manager Ansar. Bromley started the brighter of the 2 and went ahead through a Kwesi Delap’s throw which skipper Mamunur Meaty Chowdhury managed to stumble in the back of the net, the gaffer was pleased after Mamunur showcased some impressive off the ball movement which any centre forward in the country would have been proud of. The skipper almost scored again minutes later but missed the target from a measly few yards.

Burdett managed to get a late equaliser after some sloppy defending handed them with a great opportunity to equalise which was taken with great finesse, Bromley pressed on looking for the winner but came to no avail.

Manager Naz Hussain sent a SMS after the game commenting “Lad’s, it’s positive dat we r all dissappointed wid a draw. dat’s winnin mentality, we didnt play wel enuff 2 deserve all 3pts. NEway lets keep positive & improve on our game nx week.”

2 time Mr. Olympia & Just For Men Model, Sol Miah commented after the game ‘‘you can never underestimate your opponents. You should treat any team as a good team. I myself am not a footy man but it’s just common sense. Bromley thought the 3 points were in the bag but like I tell them week in week out it’s not over till the fat lady sings’’

Final score Bromley 1- Burdett 1

Beau-tiful Bromley..

Great result at last for Bromley By Bow FC. This was supposed to be a difficult game and it sure proved to be one. Despite Bromley scoring the opener in the first half, they never had the game under control. Still with some luck and patches good possession Bromley snatched a win against title contenders Beaumont Athletic.

Bromley started brightly as they needed a win to confirm there place in the Sonali Cup. They started off a move from the back that was continued by the dazzerling skills from Steven, paved with the ferocious play by Olie as Bahar slotted the ball in the back of the net. This should have been the start of good things to come as Shof’ gave the thumbs up for the goal, this was a rare moment for the Gaffer who showed quality of an eternal reassurance.

Bromley were having plenty of possession in the opening half hour as we continued to attack the Beaumont goal. Beaumont on the other hand slowly settled down and continued to look for goals. However Bromley survived and headed in to the break with a goal advantage.

Beaumont returned in the second half more improved. They went again close to equalizing and they did just that after 10 mins as the defence slipped up. A star studded return for Hamid from injury as he finally got his over-grown toe nail filed down to size along with Brazilian’s Havier & William providing lightening pace for Bromley to step up a gear, but it was from a corner that the no nonsense defender Imrul “Jones” headed home the winner.

Fashion Guru & Ex-Hussain Tailor Customer, Akbor Islam Commented “It was tight…and it wasn’t the best of performances from us but we did get the result which matters in the end. The point of concern is that we fail to take our chances to seal games of early and it gives more confidence to the opposition. We also give too much space and too many opportunities to the opposition. As for the overall team, the spirit was visible as they clearly wanted to win this. It will really help to improve the confidence and with teams like Beaumont who are temperamental…that’s 90% temper and 10% mental.”

Technical Director, Muhith Miah commented “I am pleased with the performance on Sunday; however the score line did not compliment our ARTICULATE performance. A bonus to the performance was the sublime performance of Steven who at the tender age of 16 showed many men on how to play the beautiful game of football. I believe next year this team will be dominating all competitions”
Final Score: Bromley FC 2- Beaumont 1
